Nau mai, piki mai e ngā whanaunga, e ngā hoa o Parihaka. The Parihaka garden group is organising a whānau summer camp at the Parihaka Pā Maara from January Thursday the 14th to Sunday the 17th 2020. We'll be camping and doing some gardening, harvesting for the Rā, learning te reo Māori, pūrakau and waiata, having some whanaungatanga time, going to the tide, swimming at the local pool and heading to the Festival of the Lights on the bus. You are welcome to stay on for the Rā also on the 18th and 19th up at the marae. Please register below.

Facilities at the garden: cold water, longdrop, BBQ, some plates cutlery and plates, firepit, covered cooking area. THERE IS NO POWER, NO FRIDGE, NO FLUSH-TOILET and NO WIFI. We may be able to also access a toilet at the marae (500 meters from the garden, tbc). Smoke-free and alcohol-free.
COST: There is no cost to participate. But please bring some kai to share that can easily be cooked together. TIMETABLE: see below

Friday, 15th January 2020 7am - Yoga 7.30am - Parakuihi 8.30am - gardening mahi 11am - te reo Māori lesson 12pm - kai o te rā Afternoon - mahi in the food forest and trip to Pungarehu pools and beach 0.3 tide at c.6:30pm 7pm - kai o te pō Evening fire.
Saturday, 16th January 2020 7am - Yoga 7.30am - Parakuihi 8.30am - gardening mahi 11am - te reo Māori lesson 12pm - kai o te rā Afternoon - mahi in the food forest or Pungarehu pools and beach 5pm - kai o te pō. Sunday, 17th January 2020 7am - Yoga 7.30am - Parakuihi 8.30am - harvest and process kai and take it to the marae. 12pm - kai o te rā 1pm - poroaki for those leaving
For people wanting to stay on, there is the option to participate in the 18th January - the monthly hui at Parihaka.
